It has been refined after 80 over missions, for potential participants whom already have considerable operational skills and experience and are keen in security work in the commercial sector. The course covers the elements in providing security services in the commercial sector, legally and professionally. Unlcos, Solas and other international maritime laws will be introduced during the course besides maritime navigation, sea escort formations, equipment and etc.
Qualifications from the course - Certificate of attendance.
In high risk environments where the safety of personnel and high value assets are critical we are (again by experience) able to recruit suitable personnel, screen those individuals, then select and train them to US DOS standards, followed by equipping them and finally delivering them safely to the area of operations. Our limited but tried experience is only in
The Gas and Oil industry is a very complex business. We have categorized the industry into different elements so that we are able to deliver the best service solution to our clients.:
a. Exploration – At EMSS we work predominantly with drilling rigs. MSS guarantees a safe and secure environment for oil rigs when they are mobilized. During the mobilization phase, large drilling companies painstakingly calculate the time the rig is down due to the move and this usually means money. So at MSS we make sure that this “down time” is minimal and within the mobilization plans of the company.
b. Production – EMSS has experience working alongside FSPO's (Floating Storage Platform Outlets). These vessels are required to be moved into locations that are central to the overall operations of the drilling fields. EMSS again ensures that these large and valuable assets are safely delivered to the appointed area of operations.
c. Construction - EMSS has had the opportunity to work with one of the largest pipe laying and heavy lift organizations in the world. We understand their operations very well.
d. Transportation – At EMSS we have several security options for both fast and slow moving vessels.
We are very mindful that the Oil and Gas business is very dependant on supporting partners such as:
a. Large salvage shipping firms who tow their equipment about the world.
b. Large logistics firms who are contracted to provide logistical support to the rigs and maritime vessels during the mobilization phase.
Each mission is unique and it is because of this uniqueness that EMSS takes time out to understand each client's concept of operations.
Cruise Liners and Super Yachts

Our clients value both their privacy and safety. EMSS ensures that this is done in a professional manner.
At EMSS we ensure that our clients receive a dedicated team who are both discreet and non intrusive. The moment we receive the intent from our client our planning team is activated. All relevant intelligence data is collected and carefully outlined thus forming the basis of our operating plans.
As most of our missions involve high value clients we constantly send daily communication briefs to their company headquarters so that they are kept abreast of latest development of the mission. As mentioned previously, client confidentiality is crucial.

In line with the IMO standards and protocols, we ensure that our clients’ responsibilities to the IMO are met.
We have completed numerous Ship Security Surveys/ Plans and Port Facility Security Surveys far beyond the normal required standard for ISPS regulations. Critical data collection and a close and cordial working relationship with the ships company personnel are important ingredients to successful surveys. Our consultants are very senior operators who have vast amount of experience in both maritime and security operations.

At platform sites we are able to provide local guard force protection for a 24/7 protection schedule. This service includes both the exploration and production phases of the operations. Our ability to work with local security companies enables us to deliver the highest standard of security service where possible.
At EMSS we are not restricted to maritime services our experience in providing security services on land is well documented. We have been involved and supplied force protection services to high risk areas in Iraq.
Description of ISPS Code - The International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code) is a comprehensive set of measures to enhance the security of ships and port facilities, developed in response to the perceived threats to ships and port facilities in the wake of the 9/11 attacks in the United States. The ISPS Code is implemented through chapter XI-2 Special measures to enhance maritime security in the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS). The Code has two parts, one mandatory and one recommendatory. In essence, the Code takes the approach that ensuring the security of ships and port facilities is a risk management activity and that, to determine what security measures are appropriate, an assessment of the risks must be made in each particular case. The purpose of the Code is to provide a standardised, consistent framework for evaluating risk, enabling Governments to offset changes in threat with changes in vulnerability for ships and port facilities through determination of appropriate security levels and corresponding security measures.
Qualifications from the course - Port Facility Security Officer, Company Security Officer and Ship Security Officer
The nature of the ISPS course has been tailored to qualify the course participants so that they are able to provide not only security services but also value added services such as on board training of the ship's crew and internal auditing of the ship towards ISPS compliancy.
ISO 28000 - Lead Auditor Course
Description of ISO 28000 - An ISO standard developed in response to demand from industry for a security management standard. Its ultimate objective is to improve the security of supply chain. Example, from the supplier of raw material, the manufacturer and to the retailer and finally to the end user. This Publicily Available Specification is a high level management standard that enables an organization to establish an overall supply chain security management system. It requires the organization to assess the security environment in which it operates and to determine if adequate security measures are in place and if other regulatory requirements already exist with which the organization complies. If security needs are identified by this process, the organization should implement mechanisims and processes to meet these needs. Since supply chains are dynamic in nature, some organizations managing multiple supply chains may look to their service providers to meet related governmental or ISO supply chain security standards as a condition of being included in that supply chain in order to simplify security management.
Qualifications from the course - Lead Auditor in ISO 28000
The qualification from this course will further compliment the the qualifications attained from the ISPS course. It will qualify the course participants to provide, assess, maintain and audit security management systems or services.
