Maritime Security Escorts

Providing security teams for vessesls transiting through hazardous passages of water is the core skill of EMSS. Our teams will be organized and broken down based upon the requirement of the client:

  • Sea Marshalls
  • Unarmed team on client vessel (less lethal options only)
  • Armed team on client vessel
  • Armed team on client vessel / armed team on escort vessel

Prior to the commencement of the operation, an EMSS advance team will conduct a security assessment of the client vessel(s) and then harden it based on the current threat level in the area they are required to transit.

Private Luxury Super Yachts

At EMSS we ensure that our clients receive a dedicated team who are both discreet and non intrusive. The moment we receive the "go ahead" from our client our planning team is activated. All relevant intelligence data is collected and analyzed in order to form the basis of our operational plan.

Land based security details can also be incorporated into these missions for clients who plan to visit ports for busines or recreation purposes.

As most of our missions involve high value clients we constantly send daily communication briefs to their company headquarters so that they are kept abreast of latest development of the mission. As mentioned previously, client confidentiality is crucial.

ISPS Code 2003 Course

The aim of this course is to introduce students to The International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code). This is a comprehensive set of measures desinged to enhance the security of ships and port facilities, developed in response to the perceived threats to ships and port facilities in the wake of the 9/11 attacks in the United States. The ISPS Code is implemented through chapter XI-2 special measures to enhance maritime security in the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS).

The Code consists of Part A which is mandatory for contracting governments and Part B which contains guidance issues. In essence, the Code takes the approach that ensuring the security of ships and port facilities is a risk management activity and that, to determine what security measures are appropriate, an assessment of the risks must be made in each particular case.

The purpose of the Code is to provide a standardized, consistent framework for evaluating risk, enabling Governments to offset changes in threat with changes in vulnerability for ships and port facilities through the determination of appropriate security levels and corresponding security measures.

The nature of the ISPS course has been tailored to qualify the course participants so that they are able to provide not only security services but also value added services such as on board training of the ship's crew and internal auditing of the ship towards ISPS compliancy.

ISO 28000 - Lead Auditor Course

This course was developed in response to demand from industry for a security management standard. Its ultimate objective is to improve the security of supply chain. From the raw material to the manufacturer to the retailer and finally the end user. This will allow the organization to establish an overall supply chain security management system. It requires the organization to assess the security environment in which it operates and to determine if adequate security measures are in place and if other regulatory requirements already exist with which the organization complies.

If security needs are identified by this process, the organization should implement mechanisims and processes to meet these needs. Since supply chains are dynamic in nature, some organizations managing multiple supply chains may look to their service providers to meet related governmental or ISO supply chain security standards as a condition of being included in that supply chain in order to simplify security management.

The qualification from this course will further compliment the the qualifications attained from the ISPS course. It will qualify the course participants to provide, assess, maintain and audit security management systems or services.
